Senior Back Office Architect

About the role

The client is looking for a Senior Back Office Architect to lead the modernization of its enterprise financial platforms. This hands‑on architecture position will design scalable, reliable systems for money movement, settlements, reconciliation and treasury while bridging product and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own and modernize the architecture of core back‑office financial systems, including ledgers, settlements, reconciliation, treasury and money‑movement platforms.
• Lead architecture design reviews and provide technical direction across engineering teams, establishing standards for APIs, integrations, security and observability.
• Remain hands‑on with system design, prototyping and software development while guiding implementation of complex solutions.
• Partner with product, engineering and business stakeholders to align architecture with business goals and drive cross‑functional decisions.
• Introduce architecture governance, best practices and processes to support a growing engineering organization.
• Mentor architects and technical leaders, promoting modern technologies, AI‑enabled development practices and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software development and architecture experience, including end‑to‑end system design and delivery.
• Strong hands‑on architecture expertise with the ability to contribute to implementation when needed.
• Professional experience with C# and .NET.
• Background in financial services, banking, payments, fintech or other regulated financial environments.
• Proven experience modernizing or evolving legacy platforms.
