Senior Buyer – Direct Materials & Supply Chain

About the role

Fluence is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead end‑to‑end procurement of direct materials supporting its global energy‑storage business. The role ensures timely supply, accurate invoicing and strong supplier relationships across multiple geographies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full procurement cycle for direct materials, creating and modifying purchase orders in SAP and ensuring uninterrupted supply.
• Handle Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) processes, coordinating with finance, vendors and internal teams to reconcile invoices and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain relationships with global suppliers, oversee onboarding, compliance documentation and performance tracking, and manage escalations.
• Collaborate with logistics and freight partners to track shipments, resolve inbound logistics issues and support material movement.
• Analyze procurement and supply‑chain data, produce dashboards and KPI reports, and support inventory optimisation and cost‑control initiatives.

Required profile

• 4–7 years of experience in procurement or supply‑chain operations, specifically with direct‑materials purchasing.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP purchase‑order creation and vendor‑invoice management workflows.
• Proven ability to work with global suppliers and manage high‑pressure operational environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
