Senior Coastal Engineer – Ports & Terminals

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer to join our Ports and Terminals team in Santiago, Chile. The role involves leading design and analysis of coastal structures, metocean assessments, and numerical modelling for a diverse portfolio of marine infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee coastal structures, including ports, harbours, and shoreline protection works.
• Conduct metocean assessments and develop numerical models using Delft3D, Mike, or similar tools.
• Provide technical input for dredging, climate‑adaptation planning, and coastal management strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, innovative, and sustainable solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the coastal engineering capability in the region.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering, Oceanic Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration with the relevant engineering council.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in planning and designing coastal infrastructure (15+ years preferred).
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of coastal processes modelling.
• Proficiency with Delft3D and/or Mike modelling software.
• Experience with port and marine infrastructure design.
• Familiarity with climate adaptation and coastal management practices.
