Senior Financial Analyst - Healthcare

About the role

A detail-oriented, highly analytical Senior Financial Analyst is sought to work directly with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The role guides the financial strategy, operational analysis and fiscal performance of skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate has deep experience in healthcare, especially nursing home or post-acute care, and strong expertise in reimbursement models, census-driven analytics and executive reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial packages, board presentations and executive summaries with key performance indicators, working with the CFO
• Analyze census metrics, payer mix shifts (Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, managed care), per-diem revenue trends and nursing department labor costs, including direct care staffing ratios and overtime
• Lead the annual facility-level budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts, variance analyses and cash flow projections
• Monitor departmental spending, vendor contracts, supply costs and labor utilization against patient acuity and regulatory staffing mandates
• Track the impact of Medicare (e.g. PDPM) and state Medicaid rate changes, reimbursement updates and compliance requirements on revenue
• Build financial models, dashboard tools and scenario analyses to support expansion, capital allocation and efficiency

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Healthcare Administration; MBA/MHA or CFA/CPA preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive financial analysis experience in healthcare, with direct experience in nursing homes, SNFs or long-term care
• Firm understanding of healthcare accounting, Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement and labor cost management
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to turn complex data into executive insights
