Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the industrialisation of aerospace products. You will translate design specifications into robust manufacturing systems, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost targets are met while supporting continuous improvement across the production floor.

Key responsibilities

• Define and optimise the build process, including time calculations, technical sequencing and industrial asset specifications (jigs, tools, tooling, machines).
• Collaborate with design, engineering and supply‑chain teams to embed manufacturing best practices early in the product lifecycle.
• Drive first‑article installations, establish feedback loops with production teams, and ensure manufacturing readiness (right first time).
• Create and maintain routings, Bills of Materials and Standard Operating Instructions, applying standard work and time‑value methods.
• Lead PFMEA/FMEA activities, manage Delta FAI, and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering within a complex, high‑tech environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrialisation, design‑to‑manufacturing, and lean methodologies.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, supply chain and production teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on cost‑efficient solutions.
