Senior Project Manager - Data Centre Construction Projects

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Senior Project Manager (Project Lead) for data centre construction projects in Santiago. The role acts as the main day-to-day client interface, making sure client objectives are met and exceeded, and that projects are delivered on time and within cost while meeting quality, sustainability and safety standards. The person leads a multi-disciplinary team through design development, permitting and approvals, procurement and construction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team covering overall project management, stakeholder management and project controls.
• Manage preconstruction activities, environmental, health and safety, quality and commercial management, claims and procurement.
• Oversee construction management, project execution support, project close-out and warranty management.
• Act as the key client interface and ensure projects meet time, cost and quality targets.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering major projects and programmes.
• Data centre experience preferred.
• Experience as a Senior Project Manager - Project Lead within a PMC, EPCM, construction management environment or as a general contractor.
• Strong pre-contract and post-contract, full life-cycle delivery background.
• Understanding of quality and health and safety requirements on a construction site.
• Ability to communicate well with clients and senior management; English mandatory.

Required skills

• Project controls methodology and construction schedule/programme management.
• Ability to direct others in using various software tools.
• Core technical knowledge of construction, commercial awareness and contractual awareness.
