Senior QA Engineer

About the role

Makai is seeking a proactive Senior QA Engineer to join its remote team. You will be the hands‑on expert driving quality initiatives for the Makai Automation Platform, ensuring product reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full QA lifecycle: analyze requirements, design test strategies, execute tests, and report release readiness.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, compatibility, and exploratory testing.
• Conduct API testing with Postman and validate backend logic using complex SQL queries.
• Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating closely with developers for resolution.
• Advocate and improve quality best practices across the team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional QA experience testing complex web applications.
• Strong knowledge of modern QA methodologies, test design techniques, and the full SDLC/STLC within Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) for data validation and test setup/teardown.
• Test automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Ability to read JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python code.
• API testing tools (Postman).
• Experience with manual functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
