Senior QA Engineer – Remote

About the role

Makai is seeking a proactive Senior QA Engineer to lead quality initiatives for its automation platform. This fully remote, full‑time position will focus on ensuring product reliability, performance, and user satisfaction across complex web applications. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and the QA team in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end QA lifecycle, from requirement analysis and test design to execution and release readiness reporting.
• Perform manual functional, integration, regression, compatibility, and exploratory testing to validate new features and maintain existing functionality.
• Conduct extensive API testing using tools such as Postman and verify backend logic by writing and executing complex SQL queries.
• Identify, document, and track defects with detailed information, collaborating with developers to drive timely resolution.
• Champion quality best practices, provide feedback during grooming sessions, and continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Mentor junior team members, share knowledge, and foster a culture of quality across the organization.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional QA experience testing complex web applications.
• Strong understanding of modern QA methodologies, test design techniques, and the full SDLC/STLC within Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with database testing, writing complex SQL queries for data validation and test setup/teardown.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
