Site Manager

About the role

Bechtel is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team on a complex mining and metals project in Santiago. The role provides field‑engineering leadership, ensuring that work planning, material management, safety, quality, and technical inspections are executed to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a construction engineering team, overseeing daily field activities.
• Lead work planning, packaging, and material management for the project.
• Validate quantities, enforce safety and quality control, and conduct technical inspections and testing.
• Coordinate system turnover, subcontractor activities, and interface with all site sections.
• Develop and recommend staffing plans, approve requisitions, and ensure compliance with engineering procedures.
• Design temporary construction facilities and oversee their implementation.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in construction engineering, preferably on large‑scale mining or metals projects.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Ability to develop staffing plans, assess competencies, and provide feedback.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination across multiple site disciplines.
