Software Engineer (Elixir/Phoenix) – Remote – Latin America

About the role

Bluelight is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with deep experience in Elixir and the Phoenix framework to join its rapidly expanding remote team serving Latin America. You will work on high‑performance backend systems, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and help deliver reliable, scalable applications for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain reusable, high‑performance backend services and APIs using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into well‑architected solutions.
• Own features from specification through launch, writing clean code and managing releases.
• Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews, and uphold a high‑quality code culture.
• Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs, and continuously improve performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Stay current with Elixir ecosystem trends and best practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency with Elixir, Phoenix, and OTP.
• Experience building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Solid understanding of concurrent, distributed systems and functional programming principles.
• Proven ability to work effectively in an agile, collaborative environment.
