Supplier Quality & Area Expeditor / Inspector

About the role

The Supplier Quality & Area Expeditor / Inspector supports on‑time delivery of project materials for Bechtel’s mining and metals projects. The role monitors supplier and sub‑supplier activities from engineering through fabrication, inspection and shipment, and acts as the primary quality point of contact for suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive assignment packages and coordinate expediting activities with the Project Expediter, suppliers and internal teams.
• Monitor supplier processes including procurement, planning, engineering, fabrication, testing and shipment.
• Conduct on‑site visits to assess fabrication progress, verify purchase order compliance and identify schedule or quality risks.
• Analyze schedules and progress reports, recommend corrective actions and track their implementation.
• Provide supplier quality support, including offshore inspection, local inspection, quality administration and reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in supplier expediting, quality assurance or inspection within construction, mining or industrial projects.
• Strong ability to assess technical documentation, sub‑mittals and engineering data.
• Excellent communication skills to report status, risks and corrective actions to project stakeholders.
• Ability to work on‑site and coordinate with multiple parties across different locations.
