System Engineer

About the role

Innovatrics is seeking a System Engineer to join its ABIS team, deploying and maintaining cutting‑edge biometric identity solutions for governments and enterprises worldwide. The role involves on‑site client deployments, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of deployment tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer the Innovatrics ABIS product end‑to‑end for clients globally.
• Own client deployments from scoping through go‑live, including up to 25% travel.
• Provide L2/L3 support, tune system performance across OS, Kubernetes, databases, and networks.
• Build and improve internal deployment tooling, monitoring pipelines, and automated playbooks.
• Collaborate with consulting and engineering teams on product improvements and documentation.
• Train partner technical teams and participate in a rotating 24/7 on‑call schedule.

Required profile

• 1+ year Unix/Linux server administration experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and structured troubleshooting skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

Required skills

• RHEL / Rocky Linux, Ansible, AWS, GitLab, PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, Bash, Grafana, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, VMware, Proxmox, Keycloak, Redis, Ignite, Python, Java, MSSQL.
• Networking fundamentals (routing, firewalls, DNS, TCP/IP) at CCNA level.
• Experience with containerisation, virtualization, and observability tooling (ELK, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) is a plus.
