Virtual Medical Assistant (Telehealth)

About the role

Outsourcing Staffing Advantage is looking for a compassionate, detail‑oriented Virtual Medical Assistant to support its Telehealth team. The role involves preparing patients for virtual consultations by gathering and documenting their medical history, medications, surgeries, and existing conditions before they connect with physicians overseas.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact during the telehealth intake process.
• Collect and accurately record patient demographics, medical history, diagnoses, allergies, and medication lists.
• Review patient information for completeness and accuracy before the consultation.
• Enter all data into the medical documentation system with high precision.
• Organize and prepare patient records for the physician and coordinate the hand‑off.
• Maintain confidential medical documentation in compliance with privacy standards.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients throughout the intake.

Required profile

• Background as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, medical student, physician in training, or other healthcare professional with strong medical knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. medical terminology, diagnoses, anatomy, and common medications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while handling multiple patient intakes.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
