About the role

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean is seeking a Website Assistant to support its Statistics Division. The role involves providing basic technical assistance, handling user requests, and helping maintain web‑based applications and content management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the focal point for receiving and processing user requests.
• Provide basic technical support for hardware and software applications.
• Install and configure software, hardware, and web‑based systems according to specifications.
• Assist senior IT staff in planning, designing, testing, and maintaining customized application software.
• Support the creation and upkeep of applications built on Lotus Notes, Microsoft Access, and web publishing platforms.
• Prepare technical and user documentation and contribute to training materials.
• Maintain regular contact with users and technical staff, offering ongoing assistance.
• Research and evaluate new web technologies, collaborative tools, and digital platforms.
• Help collect, analyse, and present data for reports and decision‑making.
• Update web pages, brochures, and other visual information materials.

Required profile

• Basic experience in technical support and software installation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with users and technical teams.
• Attention to detail when documenting procedures and preparing training resources.
• Willingness to stay current with emerging web technologies.
