Director of Global Supply Chain

About the role

This senior position leads the global supply chain function for a multinational manufacturing organization based in Chile. Reporting to senior executives, the Director shapes sourcing strategy, commodity management and supplier performance across a complex, worldwide network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global strategic sourcing, commodity management and supplier negotiations to reduce material costs and improve commercial outcomes.
• Design and oversee quotation processes, supplier awards and implementation timelines.
• Analyze global spend, pricing and vendor‑managed inventory data to set competitive total‑cost‑of‑ownership targets.
• Conduct key supplier negotiations and develop long‑term value strategies covering quality, service and cost.
• Maintain reporting on savings, purchase‑price variance, supplier performance and implementation progress.
• Create supplier scorecards, executive relationships and escalation procedures to ensure accountability.
• Monitor market trends, emerging technologies and supply risks, translating insights into actionable guidance.
• Manage global spend analysis databases to support sourcing decisions.
• Develop and execute risk‑mitigation, business‑continuity and supply‑assurance plans.
• Drive responsible sourcing initiatives, including conflict‑minerals compliance and diverse‑supplier programs.
• Build, lead and develop a global supply‑chain team with clear expectations and professional‑development plans.
• Partner with senior leadership on projects that enhance margin, growth and financial performance.
• Travel internationally and domestically to engage with business units, suppliers and strategic partners.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level leadership experience in global supply‑chain or procurement functions.
• Track record of delivering cost‑reduction, supplier‑performance and strategic‑sourcing initiatives.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Ability to travel internationally and domestically as required.
• Experience working with senior executives and cross‑functional teams.
