Human Resources Assistant

About the role

The Human Resources Assistant will support the Recruitment Unit of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago. Working under the Chief of the Recruitment Unit, the role contributes to the Commission’s mission of fostering economic and social development across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the full recruitment cycle for staff and non‑staff positions, including screening applications, preparing candidate profiles, and conducting roster searches.
• Coordinate competitive recruitment examinations and maintain vacancy announcement files.
• Process personnel actions in the ERP system and advise hiring managers on recruitment matters.
• Support classification requests and provide guidance on classification procedures.
• Conduct exit interviews, manage HR databases, and prepare statistical reports.
• Undertake research on HR issues, contribute to process‑improvement notes, and analyse data patterns.
• Train and supervise junior staff and provide recruitment support to client offices.

Required profile

• Experience in HR administration and recruitment processes.
• Familiarity with HR information systems and data management.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an international, multilateral environment.
