Primary Care Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

The Primary Care Clinical Pharmacist will deliver the full range of pharmacotherapy services to GP practices and other healthcare professionals in the Inverness area. Working as an independent clinical pharmacist within a multi‑professional team, you will optimise safe, evidence‑based and cost‑effective use of medicines through telephone and face‑to‑face consultations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmacotherapy services to GP practices and allied health professionals.
• Conduct patient consultations (telephone and face‑to‑face) to optimise medication use.
• Collaborate with a multi‑professional team to ensure safe, quality, and cost‑effective prescribing.
• Travel to multiple practice locations as required.
• Participate in post‑registration training programmes (NES Post‑Registration Foundation Training or GP Clinical Pharmacist Framework).

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent.
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and development.
• Independent prescriber status or willingness to obtain it (training supported).
• Full, current driving licence and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.
