Assistant Support Services Manager

About the role

We are looking for a motivated, resilient individual to join the Support Services management team at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. The Assistant Support Services Manager will help oversee the delivery of domestic services in line with the National Cleaning Services Specification, ensuring safe, effective and patient‑centred outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Support Services Manager in operational management of domestic services across all shifts.
• Lead and develop the Domestic Services team, managing staffing resources, attendance and performance.
• Ensure compliance with Once for Scotland, NHS Fife policies, infection control and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Investigate incidents, compile written reports and manage competing priorities.
• Implement and maintain electronic systems and digital tools for the service.
• Cover day, back, night and weekend shifts at short notice as required.

Required profile

• Experience managing large staff groups within the NHS or similar public sector environment.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning practices and familiarity with mechanical cleaning equipment is desirable.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
