Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Orthopaedic (Internal)

About the role

The Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner will join the Orthopaedic team to support both trauma and elective pathways, helping to reduce waiting times and improve patient flow. Working across the Fife Elective Orthopaedic Centre and dedicated hip‑fracture ward, you will provide expert clinical care in line with national standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver advanced clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for orthopaedic patients.
• Collaborate with orthopaedic consultants, geriatric teams, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure seamless patient journeys.
• Lead an ANP‑led unit, managing patient caseloads autonomously while maintaining high‑quality standards.
• Participate in the waiting‑time initiative by streamlining pathways and supporting discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service improvement projects.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a substantive post in a relevant clinical area.
• Post‑Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated competence in advanced orthopaedic nursing practice.
• Ability to make safe, independent clinical decisions across acute care settings.
• Flexibility to manage fluctuating workloads in a busy environment.
