Business Developer – Origination & Permitting

About the role

Join ContourGlobal’s Business Development team in Santiago as a Business Developer focused on Origination & Permitting. Reporting to the Head of BD South America, you will drive the sourcing, evaluation and execution of renewable energy projects and M&A opportunities across Chile.

Key responsibilities

• Originate, develop and acquire wind, solar and BESS projects, covering greenfield, brownfield and M&A pipelines.
• Ensure projects reach Ready‑to‑Build (RTB) stage on time, within budget, and deliver at least 1,000 MW from greenfield to RTB.
• Design and implement mid‑ to long‑term Business Development strategy aligned with corporate KPIs.
• Manage end‑to‑end project development, including planning (Gantt charts), portfolio tracking and coordination with ESG, Engineering & Construction, O&M, Legal, Finance and Commercial teams.
• Control and report project budgets and capital requirements accurately.
• Collaborate with the Commercial team to align the pipeline with medium‑ and long‑term energy commercialization opportunities.
• Negotiate and manage third‑party agreements such as Development Service Agreements, Co‑development Agreements and Sale & Purchase Agreements.
• Oversee permitting processes to ensure compliance with local regulations and timelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or project origination within the renewable energy sector.
• Strong understanding of greenfield, brownfield and M&A project lifecycles.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent analytical skills for technical and economic feasibility assessments.
