Commercial Engineer

About the role

The Commercial Engineer supports pre‑sales activities for Rockwell Automation’s Business Unit, turning customer requirements into tailored technical and commercial proposals. You will work closely with sales teams and distribution partners to deliver cost‑effective solutions that combine Rockwell and non‑Rockwell products.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and project specifications to recommend optimal technical solutions.
• Develop and qualify opportunities, ensuring alignment with Rockwell Automation product offerings.
• Prepare cost estimates, pricing, and budgetary proposals using quotation tools.
• Evaluate proposal margins and obtain necessary approvals under the Delegation of Authority.
• Convert approved quotes into orders in SAP, verifying pricing, delivery terms, and payment milestones.
• Maintain organized records of all proposal documentation.
• Respond to technical and commercial inquiries from customers and sales teams.
• Provide technical support documents such as data sheets, catalogs, and certifications for bid processes.
