Domestic Assistant

About the role

Provide domestic services to patients, staff and visitors across NHS Lanarkshire premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment that meets NHS and Hospital Acquired Infection standards. The role works a regular Monday‑Friday shift from 07:30 to 15:00.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake a range of cleaning tasks using machinery, equipment and manual handling techniques.
• Ensure all areas are cleaned to required standards and report any access issues to a supervisor.
• Use cleaning materials and agents in line with Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.
• Maintain safety and consideration for patients, staff and visitors while performing duties.

Required profile

• Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety, including risk assessment for individual tasks.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Capability to carry out assigned tasks efficiently in a busy environment.

Required skills

• Operation of cleaning machinery and equipment.
• Manual handling and lifting of cleaning supplies.
• Application of cleaning agents according to COSHH regulations.
• Adherence to infection control and safety standards.
