Locum Consultant – Otology (University Hospital Monklands)

About the role

The NHS Lanarkshire Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant in Otology to join the ENT department at University Hospital Monklands. The appointment is initially for 12 months on a full‑time 10‑PA basis, with flexibility for part‑time or additional SPA time.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality otology clinical services, including outpatient clinics and surgical lists.
• Participate in the on‑call rota for ENT emergencies.
• Contribute to teaching medical students and trainees from the University of Glasgow.
• Engage in research, quality improvement, and leadership activities within the department.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Consultant in Otology with a current GMC registration.
• Experience in NHS consultant roles and willingness to join an established team.
• Commitment to teaching, research, and service development.

• Temporal bone dissection
• Endoscopic ear surgery
• Head and neck anatomy knowledge
• ENT emergency management
