Media Center Assistant

About the role

The Media Center Assistant supports the Teacher Librarian in managing the daily operations of the Media Center at International School Nido de Aguilas. This role contributes to a vibrant learning hub where students, staff, and faculty develop information, media, and digital citizenship skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the day‑to‑day functioning of the Media Center, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Prepare, organize, and circulate library resources and learning materials.
• Support students and teachers in locating and using information resources.
• Operate and maintain library assets, including technology tools and equipment.
• Serve as a cultural ambassador, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Required profile

• Interest in emerging technologies related to information retrieval, media literacy, and AI literacy.
• Ability to lift and carry books and library materials.
• Experience working with children or young people in a school setting.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Experience in a multilingual environment and familiarity with library services.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides).
• Experience with library management systems such as Follett or Aleph.
