Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner

About the role

As a Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner within NHS Lanarkshire, you will join a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality patient care across acute hospital sites. The role involves assessing patient needs, developing and evaluating care programmes, and ensuring standards of practice are met.

Key responsibilities

• Assess care needs and design, implement and evaluate patient care programmes.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
• Work in line with departmental policies, procedures, standards and professional codes (NMC, HPC & AODP).
• Report outcomes to senior staff to support monitoring of care standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration, or SVQ Level III/Diploma in Operating Department Practice.
• Strong team-working ability and initiative.
• Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
