About the role
The Risk Prevention Specialist will support the Santiago (SCL) team of International Operations at American Airlines. This position focuses on identifying workplace hazards, maintaining safety management tools, and delivering consistent, standardized risk reporting across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and support administrative items for safety education and ACHS training programs.
- Assist with routine inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety regulations and ergonomic standards.
- Support investigations of workplace incidents, accidents and illnesses, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures in line with Chilean Law No. 16.744.
- Collaborate on emergency preparedness and response plans, including evacuation procedures and communication with emergency services.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and documentation related to compliance, inspections, training, and preventive actions.
- Track, analyze, and report key risk indicators to leadership through monthly updates.
- Identify and mitigate workplace hazards through process improvements, protective equipment, signage, training, and clear emergency procedures.
- Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and internal processes, adjusting prevention strategies and providing technical advice to management.
- Coordinate health and environmental surveillance programs according to existing workplace risks and legal requirements.
- Participate in the design and organization of workplaces and workstations to ensure safety and health.
Required profile
- Knowledge of Chilean occupational health and safety legislation, especially Law No. 16.744.
- Experience in safety education, ACHS training, and conducting inspections or audits.
- Ability to investigate incidents, document findings, and implement preventive actions.
- Familiarity with emergency preparedness planning and coordination with emergency services.
- Strong record‑keeping and documentation skills.
- Capability to track risk indicators and produce regular reports for leadership.
- Proactive approach to identifying hazards and recommending improvements.
- Awareness of regulatory changes and ability to adapt risk‑prevention strategies accordingly.
