Software Engineer – Open Source Management

About the role

The Synopsys Central Engineering team is looking for a hands‑on Software Engineer to join the Open Source Management group in Santiago. You will build and operate automation that enables enterprise‑scale open‑source intake, onboarding, and compliance workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scripts and tooling that support open‑source component intake, inventory accuracy, and operational execution.
• Integrate automation with internal systems using RESTful APIs and ensure seamless data flow across Legal, Engineering, and DevOps teams.
• Instrument workflows to provide visibility into status, completeness, and health of open‑source processes.
• Deploy, operate, and continuously improve automation solutions in a Linux environment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to align automation with compliance and security requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing automation or tooling for engineering or compliance workflows.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Shell scripting (bash, sh).
• Experience with RESTful API integration.
• Proficiency in Linux development environments.
