Specialist Pharmacist – Aseptic & Clinical Services

About the role

We are seeking a Specialist Pharmacist to split their time between clinical pharmacy services and aseptic manufacturing at Victoria Hospital and Whyteman’s Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy. The role offers the chance to develop expertise across multiple clinical specialties while contributing to the design and transformation of our aseptic service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient‑focused clinical pharmacy care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including participation in pharmacist‑led clinics.
• Act as Deputy Accountable Pharmacist for the aseptic unit, supporting quality assurance and service development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, pharmacy technicians, and senior pharmacists to optimise medication safety.
• Participate in on‑call, evening, weekend and public holiday service provision.
• Contribute to national aseptic bodies and local quality improvement projects.

Required profile

• Motivated, patient‑centred professional with a passion for pharmacy practice.
• Willingness to develop clinical and aseptic skills across a range of specialties.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, evolving inpatient environment.
• Independent Prescribing qualification is desirable; training and support will be provided for those not yet qualified.

• Independent Prescribing qualification (desirable).
