Specialty Doctor – Renal Medicine

About the role

The NHS Lanarkshire Renal Department at University Hospital Monklands is seeking a substantive Specialty Doctor in Renal Medicine. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering both inpatient and outpatient renal services, including dialysis and virtual ward activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive renal care for in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Perform renal procedures and manage dialysis services.
• Participate in the renal virtual ward and on‑call duties for general medical residents.
• Engage in continuing medical education, governance, and departmental meetings.
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, medical education, and research initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with experience in renal and general internal medicine.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to professional development and service improvement.
