Staff Nurse – Orthopaedic Hip Fracture Ward (Ward 31)

About the role

The position is for a Staff Nurse on Ward 31, a busy orthopaedic hip‑fracture ward within NHS Fife. The role is part‑time and involves rotating across day, night and twilight shifts, supporting a multidisciplinary team dedicated to high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with orthopaedic hip fractures.
• Collaborate with doctors, physiotherapists and other team members to deliver comprehensive treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure safe medication administration.
• Participate in shift rotations, covering day, night and twilight periods as required.
• Contribute to ward safety, infection control and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• First‑level trained nurse with a genuine interest in orthopaedic nursing.
• Enthusiastic, dynamic and self‑motivated with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to undergo PVG Scheme registration and right‑to‑work checks.
