Staff Nurse – Supported Discharge Unit

About the role

This full‑time position supports the existing team in the Supported Discharge Unit at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. The role offers an enthusiastic registered nurse the chance to develop both clinical and management skills in a fast‑paced, nurse‑ and doctor‑led acute setting.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with the multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers and the Health and Social Care Partnership.
• Plan and coordinate safe, patient‑centred discharges and transfers to community or home settings.
• Deliver high‑quality, safe nursing care on a rotational schedule covering days, nights and weekends.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of care pathways and clinical leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC‑registered) with a commitment to patient‑centred care.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Desire to enhance clinical and leadership abilities.
• Post‑registration experience and knowledge of acute and chronic medical conditions are desirable.
