Applications Development Senior Group Manager

About the role

The Applications Development Senior Group Manager leads multiple technology teams to design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑wide application systems. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures alignment with Citi’s strategic objectives while delivering high‑quality, compliant software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop several professional teams, handling performance reviews, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
• Define team vision, structure, and roles to maximize impact and resource efficiency.
• Present regular project updates to senior management and business leaders.
• Drive system architecture design, collaborate with end‑users, and improve deliverable quality.
• Ensure adherence to Citi policies, maintain documentation, and oversee disaster‑recovery planning and testing.
• Manage budgeting, planning, policy formation, and contribute to future strategic direction.
• Implement change controls, regulatory reporting updates, and risk assessments.
• Lead staff forums and communicate global, regional, and local updates.

Required profile

• 15+ years of relevant experience in application development or related fields.
• 8‑10+ years of managerial experience overseeing technology teams.
• PMP certification and an MBA or equivalent business qualifications.
• Experience with financial products and knowledge of industry competitors.
• Strong understanding of strategic direction within a financial services context.
