Civil 3D Designer

About the role

GHD, a leading global professional services firm, is looking for a Civil 3D Designer to join its Santiago office. The role requires advanced English skills and close collaboration with GHD teams in Canada and the United States on a variety of infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop supporting project information, including 3D CAD modelling, calculations, analysis, reports, measurements and drawings.
• Perform surface modelling and design gravity and pressure pipe networks.
• Carry out grading modelling, earthworks design and, where required, road geometric design.
• Interpret and define design criteria, guiding optimal design solutions.
• Review blueprints, make corrections to designs and digital models, and prepare technical design documentation that complies with internal and client CAD standards.
• Collaborate directly with personnel in North America and Chile, maintaining open communication within the team.

Required profile

• Civil Designer with a technical degree in Design, Surveying Engineering, Civil Construction or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering, infrastructure or mining, focusing on civil operations and earthworks.
• Demonstrated experience in earthwork modelling for mining or related projects.
• Ability to wait for drawing reviews and implement corrections.
• Proactive team player capable of leading towards optimal solutions and making decisions.
• Fluent spoken English sufficient for conversation.
• Legal permit to work in Chile.
