Dispatcher – Urgent Care Services

About the role

The Dispatcher will join the Urgent Care Services team in Fife, supporting the delivery of urgent care to a population of 375,000 patients. Working within a fast‑paced environment, you will coordinate dispatch activities, liaise with senior clinicians and ensure smooth, safe operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and prioritise incoming urgent care requests.
• Allocate resources and coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate records and follow established scripting and processes.
• Provide timely updates to senior clinicians and other stakeholders.
• Adapt to flexible rosters, including public holidays and out‑of‑hours periods.

Required profile

• Experience working in a health‑care setting or similar fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Good geographical knowledge of the Fife area.
• Willingness to undergo PVG scheme registration and UK work‑eligibility checks.

Required skills

• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Basic computer proficiency.
