Healthcare Support Worker – Cardiology & CCU

About the role

The NHS Scotland Cardiology Department is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker to join a busy 26‑bed ward and an 8‑bed CCU. You will deliver high‑quality, patient‑focused care while supporting the registered nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on the Cardiology and CCU wards.
• Carry out an extended range of clinical tasks delegated by nurses.
• Perform associated administrative duties and documentation.
• Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, on a rotational basis.
• Adapt to changing priorities and work without direct supervision.

Required profile

• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting (essential).
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Willingness to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
