Logistics Coordinator

About the role

As a Logistics Coordinator at TOMRA Food, you will manage both domestic and international shipping processes to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of goods. The position supports the LATAM warehouse team and collaborates closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate shipments from the California, USA warehouse, ensuring compliance with export regulations and selecting optimal shipping methods.
• Improve IFS Inventory Part Master Data by verifying country of origin and uploading required export images.
• Monitor ocean and air imports, provide clearance instructions, resolve discrepancies, and conduct post‑entry audits.
• Troubleshoot shipment issues, determine Harmonized Tariff Classification, and maintain trade‑compliance records.
• Track machine shipments, update status, recharge freight costs to customers, and ensure ongoing customs compliance.
• Collaborate with suppliers on origin and tariff details and serve as the primary contact for import/export queries.
• Report freight and inventory KPIs and work with purchasing and operations to optimize inventory levels and freight costs.
• Promote a “Safety First” culture across the company and its partners.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Business, Materials Management, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in an international logistics role.
• Professional demeanor with strong follow‑through and attention to detail.
• Logical thinker, self‑motivated, and able to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using ERP systems and performing data analysis.
