Operational Continuity Engineer

About the role

The Operational Continuity Engineer will manage and govern the Industrial Application Server Platform that runs the client’s production processes. This role involves remote administration of physical and virtual servers, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide subject‑matter expertise to resolve priority incidents and implement secure, complex solutions.
• Maintain and upgrade virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper‑V) and associated storage and backup systems.
• Perform root‑cause analysis to improve mean time between failures (MTBF) and reduce downtime.
• Execute server, disk, backup, and virtual‑machine provisioning and inventory updates.
• Apply software patches, hot‑fixes, and OS updates across Windows and Linux servers.
• Coordinate mass‑patching, script automation, and storage management tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing large IT infrastructures and supporting server, virtualization, and storage platforms.
• Proven track record meeting SLAs/KPIs for incident handling.
• Experience with 7 × 7, 12‑hour shift schedules.
• English written and spoken proficiency (desirable).
• Relevant certifications (VMware, Linux, Windows) are a plus.

Required skills

• VMware suite: vSphere, vCenter, vCloud, VMware View, vRealize, vSAN, NSX.
• Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• PowerShell scripting.
• ESXi command‑line troubleshooting.
• Backup solutions: VEEAM, VMware Data Protection.
• Server hardware: Cisco UCS, HP, Dell, IBM.
• Linux OS administration (RedHat, CentOS, Debian).
• Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 administration.
• Patch management tools: SCCM, WSUS.
• Active Directory in multi‑domain/forest environments.
• Storage management in VMware and Linux environments.
