Registered Nurse – Medicine for Older Adults

About the role

Join a multidisciplinary team at NHS Lanarkshire to provide high‑quality care for older adults in a medicine setting. You will assess patient needs, develop and evaluate care programmes, and ensure safe, compassionate delivery of services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate patient care programmes.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
• Adhere to national and local policies, legislation and the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
• Organise your own workload and that of junior staff, ensuring timely patient care.
• Provide cover for senior charge nurse or team leader when required.
• Supervise and demonstrate procedures to registered, unregistered staff and student nurses.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
• Strong team‑working ability and initiative.
• Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Effective time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Basic information technology proficiency.
