Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner - Theatre Scrub (R1)

About the role

As a member of a multidisciplinary team at NHS Lanarkshire, you will assess patient care needs, develop, implement and evaluate care programmes, and ensure delivery of high-quality care in the operating theatre.

Key responsibilities

• Assess care needs and develop appropriate programmes of care for patients.
• Implement and evaluate care programmes to maintain high standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
• Work within departmental policies, procedures, standards and professional codes.
• Supervise less-experienced staff and students, providing guidance and meeting their educational needs.
• Organise workload independently to meet patient interests.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
• SVQ Level III or Diploma in Operating Department Practice.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good time-management and initiative.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of basic information technology.
