Registered Nurse - Orthopaedic Outpatients

About the role

The NHS Lanarkshire Orthopaedic Outpatient service is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions. You will assess patient needs, develop and implement care programmes, and evaluate outcomes with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate individual care programmes for orthopaedic outpatients.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate and supervise clinical procedures for registered, unregistered staff and student nurses as required.
• Adhere to national policies, local legislation, and departmental protocols, including PREP guidelines.
• Document care activities accurately and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
• Strong team‑working ability and capacity to work independently.
• Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of relevant National and Local policies, legislation, procedures and PREP standards.
