Senior Advanced Nurse Practitioner

About the role

This senior position leads the Walk‑In (Urgent Care) service, delivering safe, effective and person‑centred care to paediatric and adult patients. The role combines clinical expertise with professional leadership, change management and service redesign to support high‑quality urgent‑care delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients autonomously in the Walk‑In service.
• Provide specialist advice, education and support to healthcare professionals, agencies, carers and patients.
• Lead co‑production initiatives, engaging staff, partners and service users in service development.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Services Manager, Lead Nurse and Head of Nursing to ensure resilience and sustainability of urgent‑care services.
• Promote professional standards, a learning culture and continuous improvement through audit, research and evidence‑based practice.
• Support the professional development of colleagues through teaching, clinical supervision and mentorship.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse with substantial post‑registration experience.
• Advanced practice qualification at MSc level or equivalent extensive experience.
• Independent non‑medical prescriber (V300) status.
• Proven leadership, change‑management and service‑redesign experience.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and postgraduate study.
