Senior Medical Practitioner – South West Inland WA

About the role

The Western Australia Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking a Senior Medical Practitioner to provide comprehensive clinical care across the inland communities of the South West region. You will work within a supportive network that includes the Regional Resource Centre in Bunbury and statewide telehealth and transport services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver acute and emergency medical care in regional hospitals and clinics.
• Supervise, mentor and train junior doctors and allied health staff.
• Manage general ward patients, aged‑care, rehabilitation and palliative cases.
• Participate in on‑call, recall and penalty‑rate duties as required.
• Utilise telehealth platforms for mental health, maternity and specialist consultations.

Required profile

• Eligible for General and/or Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship (or progressing towards) with RACGP and/or ACRRM.
• Willingness to up‑skill in Emergency Medicine or urgent‑care settings.
• Demonstrated commitment to rural health and community‑focused care.
