Accountant – Real Estate Focus (Freelance)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented accountant with real‑estate experience to join our fast‑growing back‑office team. Working remotely as an independent contractor, you will support multiple clients by delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting for several real‑estate clients, including AP/AR, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and relevant regulations, addressing discrepancies proactively.
• Perform job costing, project accounting and budget‑to‑actual analysis as required.
• Support tax compliance by preparing documentation and coordinating with external tax advisors.
• Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams, offering insights to improve financial operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls to enhance accuracy and scalability.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the real‑estate sector.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Fluent English (B2+), able to communicate with high‑profile clients.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
• Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday‑Friday.
