Accountant (Restaurant & QuickBooks Online experience)

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented accountant to support restaurant clients using QuickBooks Online. You will work remotely with a collaborative team, delivering accurate financial reporting and day‑to‑day accounting support.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain financial records, categorize expenses, and manage the general ledger daily in QuickBooks Online.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts, and delivery‑app transactions.
• Process vendor invoices, track accounts payable, and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor restaurant‑specific metrics such as food & beverage COGS and labor costs.
• Perform month‑end bank and credit‑card reconciliations and generate basic profit & loss statements for owners/managers.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
• Strong, practical experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with connecting QBO to restaurant POS systems (e.g., Toast, Clover, Square) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
