Call Center Representative – Patient Support

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, detail‑oriented Call Center Representative to provide front‑line support to patients, referring physicians and other healthcare partners. The role involves handling a high volume of inbound calls, registering new patients, managing appointments and verifying insurance, all while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously, assisting patients and healthcare providers.
• Register new patients, update demographics, schedule, reschedule, cancel and verify appointments using standard operating procedures.
• Verify patient insurance information and enter messages into Epic according to SGMF policies.
• Route telephone messages electronically to the appropriate department within the EHR system.
• Collaborate with internal staff to resolve patient inquiries and meet call‑center performance goals.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; additional college or vocational training is a plus.
• At least one year of direct customer‑service experience, preferably in a medical setting.
• Minimum six months of appointment‑scheduling experience.
• Strong English reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain composure while handling repetitive, high‑volume calls.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating system.
• Experience using Epic electronic health record system.
