Community Relations Specialist LATAM

About the role

Zelestra Latam is seeking a Community Relations Specialist to be based in Santiago, Chile. The role ensures proper social management of operating solar assets across Latin America, guaranteeing compliance with regulatory obligations, corporate social guidelines, and maintaining the social license to operate.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with social obligations defined in regulatory instruments (DIAs, RCAs, environmental licenses, etc.).
• Translate regulatory social commitments into operational Community Relations Plans and standardize social management practices across assets.
• Identify, assess, and manage social risks, implementing preventive and corrective measures.
• Oversee compliance with social obligations by O&M teams and SPV contractors.
• Prepare O&M Social Annexes for new plants and support prefeasibility assessments for pipeline projects.
• Manage relationships with communities and key stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication.
• Implement systems for handling requests, complaints, claims, and suggestions, ensuring traceability and timely resolution.
• Design and oversee the corporate social investment strategy for operating assets.

Required profile

• Experience in community relations, social risk management, and regulatory compliance within the renewable energy sector.
• Strong understanding of social licensing and stakeholder engagement in Latin America.
• Ability to work with O&M teams, contractors, and third‑party partners.
• Strategic and operational mindset with attention to detail.
