Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

DXC is seeking a collaborative Security Architect/Consultant to work alongside customers to mature their security capability, processes, governance models, and Secure by Design practices across projects and programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the adoption and continuous improvement of Secure by Design practices across customer environments.
• Review existing security processes, operating models, and governance arrangements with stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve security maturity, efficiency, and consistency across projects and programmes.
• Develop security standards, patterns, guidance, and reusable controls.
• Ensure security requirements are considered throughout solution design, delivery, testing, and implementation.
• Design and review secure solutions across cloud, infrastructure, application, and data environments.
• Conduct architecture and security reviews, produce threat models and recommendations.
• Support assessments against frameworks such as NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and NCSC CAF.
• Assist in identifying control gaps and developing remediation plans.
• Facilitate workshops, present findings to technical and non‑technical audiences, and act as a trusted security advisor.

Required profile

• Strong collaboration skills with a consultative approach.
• Ability to translate security requirements into pragmatic, achievable improvements.
• Experience working with customer stakeholders to review security processes and governance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and NCSC CAF.
• Experience with threat modelling and security architecture artefacts (HLDs, LLDs, security patterns).
• Understanding of Secure by Design principles across cloud, infrastructure, application, and data environments.
