Data Engineer – Market Risk

About the role

Evalueserve is looking for a skilled Data Engineer to support and develop market risk applications for a leading US financial institution. You will work within a global, remote team delivering critical data solutions to major clients in the financial sector.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain database code using SQL and develop Python scripts independently.
• Provide ongoing support for market risk applications, including monitoring, incident resolution, and problem management.
• Design, manage, and schedule data pipelines and batch jobs.
• Handle business‑critical incidents, communicate with stakeholders, and conduct post‑incident reviews.
• Document operational procedures, workflows, and technical solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of IT experience with at least 2 years on financial projects, preferably in market risk.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote global team.

Required skills

• SQL (preferably MS SQL Server)
• Python programming
• ETL/ELT and data‑warehouse concepts
• Experience with SSIS (a plus)
• Familiarity with Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF) (a plus)
• Job scheduling/automation tools
• Testing and troubleshooting expertise
• Jira, Confluence, and Git change‑management tools
