Data Engineer – Web Scraping

About the role

This position is for a Data Engineer specialized in web scraping, based in Chile. You will design, build and maintain scalable data collection systems that feed business‑critical insights. The role offers high ownership, allowing you to automate workflows, ensure data quality and collaborate with analysts and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate data requirements into robust solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain web scrapers for structured and unstructured sources.
• Clean, transform, validate and manipulate large datasets using Python and Pandas.
• Build and operate data ingestion pipelines into databases or data warehouses.
• Schedule, monitor and optimise scraping workflows with Apache Airflow.
• Implement quality‑control checks to guarantee data integrity and availability.
• Investigate and resolve pipeline issues and production incidents.
• Enhance internal tools, automation frameworks and platform capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2‑4 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and proactive attitude.

• SQL and relational database knowledge
• Pandas library for data manipulation
• Web technologies: HTML, JavaScript, APIs
• Web‑scraping tools such as Selenium, Scrapy, XPath, Fiddler, Postman
