Data Science Consultant

About the role

EPAM is looking for a senior Data Science Consultant to lead the design and deployment of cutting‑edge machine‑learning and AI solutions for our global clients. You will bridge business objectives with technical innovation, driving AI adoption across organizations and delivering measurable impact.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for ML/AI client engagements.
• Develop responsible AI solutions, measurement frameworks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive AI adoption by connecting business, legal, and technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with clients to identify problems, prototype solutions, and demonstrate effectiveness.
• Mentor and support data scientists and engineers in multidisciplinary, geographically distributed teams.
• Monitor advances in ML/AI technology and propose novel approaches.
• Define project scopes, pricing, and manage hand‑offs between sales and delivery.
• Engage executive and C‑level leaders to promote enterprise‑wide AI usage.
• Support sales and pre‑sales activities, including opportunity analysis and proposal creation.

Required profile

• 12+ years of leadership experience in data analytics, machine learning, and AI.
• Proven track record designing and executing ML/AI projects at scale.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary, distributed AI teams.
• Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and secure funding.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Background in regulated sectors or technology regulatory functions.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• ML libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• SQL.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
